Imus in the morning, Imus in the evening, Imus at suppertime...it's all the rage. LITERALLY.

and so, in a sea of online articles, here are two that washed up on my shores. first off, sister Stephane Dunn gets down on some righteous indignation type stuff and reps for double x chromosomes with kinky domes out there. and then there's Kevin Powell to the rescue, who sums up sex, race, and Imus so beautifully in this article that it saves the rest of us the need to go off about it. damnit, Kevin, you done did it again...

another episode of Podshow Music Rewind premiered at the top of this month, and another exclusive clip from camp lo-fi has been included. other shows in the mix include the Mothpod podcast, Podshow Radio, New Music Today, and The Scene Zine. this episode is also guest hosted by Ed Ovett of Ed's Mixed Bag, who did a great job in the driver's seat.

my wife had an operation to remove her gall bladder this past thursday. since then, my life has been devoted to looking out for her and making sure that the child is taken care of. all this adds up to another episode sneaking in at the eleventh hour. perhaps someday this won't keep happening, but i'm not going to act like that day is anytime soon.

so this show starts a two-part series dedicated to women artists within the podsafe spectrum. i always pick selections that i like and feel deserve some sort of attention, but listening to them altogether made me say, damn, this is gonna be a good show. and i hope you'll say the same. the chukimai/anji bee collab is just unbelievably gorgeous. and don't sleep on that phil asher remix of lyricl (dig the way she worked in that donny hathaway/roberta flack chorus in her song - it just works well).

this morning, i hosted WFMU's Listener Hour. with my podcast, i'm always concerned with making sure everything that i play is "podsafe" - getting permission from artists and labels or acquiring music from online safe havens like the podsafe music network or ioda promonet. with that said, it was nice to be able to spin whatever i wanted for an hour. i'm so happy that i got a chance to do this. still all smiles at the end of the day... brought back a lot of great memories of college radio for me...

after a nervous slip-up in the beginning, it was relatively smooth sailing from here. fumbling over my words a little bit, but it's been a while since i've been on the air (almost nine years since i last hosted a radio show at WCDB). i had a lot of fun and it was a great way to start off the morning. many thanks to Brian Turner for getting things set up. respect due to Bill Mac and Michael Shelley for great shows before me and after me, respectively.
